Rules
This is just a little game I came up with to trick people into paying attention to the world around them. But, as with any game, there have to be some rules (more like guidelines) so everyone knows how to play.
How to Play
Each week on Saturday (sometime in the morning), I’ll post a picture of Sméagol/Smeagol/Gollum on this blog. You have about one week to figure out where the picture was taken and submit your guess. Entries are due before the next picture is posted the following week.
- Come to the website: whereissmeagol.com
- Look at the most recent picture of Sméagol/Smeagol/Gollum.
- Make a guess about where the picture was taken and write it in a comment in response to the post that contains the picture.
- Repeat weekly.
Winning
Each week, I’ll read through all the comments and find the ones that guessed correctly. If multiple people guessed correctly, I’ll pick the one that guessed most specifically. If multiple people were most specific, I’ll select a winner at random from the most specific entries.
Claiming Your Prize
Winners will be contacted via email (so make sure the email address you provide for your comment is valid). If I know you and you don’t respond to your email, I’ll try and call you or something, but if you’re avoiding me I’ll take it as a sign that you’re not interested (and probably decide we weren’t that good of friends anyway). If I don’t know you, you’ll just forfeit the prize. A soft deadline for claiming your prize is . . . let’s say one month.
Unclaimed prizes to not roll over into the next week. This isn’t AT&T, and this comes out of pocket.
Eligability
Everyone can play. Not everyone can win.
If you live with me, you’re automatically out (Steve and Topher). If we’ve done something together that I feel gives you some unfair insight about the posted picture, I’ll exclude you from winning that week. That means, if we hang out alot and I accidentally let something slip, you’re out. If it seems like someone who’s out tipped you on what to guess, you’re probably out too (at my discretion).
