More pictures have arrived. This time we were able to pinpoint their locations with a fair amount of accuracy.
As you can see, two of these pictures were taken at an Albertsons grocery store. There are 2 Albertsons’ in Provo. The closest one is on 500 W and Center. The other is on University Parkway near Carriage Cove –
where we used to live. After some intense searching, I stumbled upon this
Google Maps Streetview screenshot. If you look closely, you can see the similarity between the Albertsons sign on the front of the building and today’s picture #2.
It makes sense that Mr. Sméagol’s captors would be living somewhere near this second Albertsons. This leads me to believe that his captors are likely to be those who had experience with Mr. Sméagol while he lived with us at Carriage Cove. Finally a good lead in this case.
Excuse me, I’ve got to go update my suspect list.
It looks like the captors are not at rest. Today we received three additional images in the mail.
Mr. Sméagol is being disguised as a young school child, going to school and playing on the playground. His captors must think his small size will help him blend in with all the young ones. Perhaps they will try to hide him with clothes next time.
Sadly, these pictures do not give us any new hints as to his whereabouts. We are not familiar with the schools in the area and are unable to identify any other landmarks. We need your help!
If you have been to these schoolgrounds, or recognize the play equipment and/or map of Utah painted on the blacktop, please come forward! You could help us make the connection that will lead to the rescue of our poor friend Mr. Sméagol.
Think of the children.
When we went to check the mail today, we found this interesting envelope:
Mr. Sméagol
Basement
123 Our Street
City, ST 84606
Since Mr. Sméagol has limited use of his hands in his current condition, we felt it best to open his mail and deliver him the contents.
Inside the the letter was 3 pictures:
We quickly realized that something was amiss.
Mr. Sméagol was no longer in our basement (despite what the address led us to believe), and someone had obviously taken him against his will (look at those pictures. Does he look happy?).
We thought of all his enemies, but could not settle on a person who would commit such a heinous crime. We’ve started this web site to help gather information which will lead to the rescue of Mr. Sméagol and the capture of his . . . (um), captors.
If you have any information that could help, we implore you to come forward.
